Social Climbers

Roger Hall’s classic Kiwi comedy, Social Climbers is an insightful situational comedy, and a hilarious tale of adventure and discovery.

A high school teacher (reluctantly accompanied by her 22 year old daughter) and four of her female colleagues, embark on a expedition of bushwalking and tramping in the mountains for their mid-term break.

Matters become complicated when a bridge-washout maroons the unlikely sextet in a hut spectacularly devoid of home-comforts.

Armed with wine casks and wit, they hunker down for a girls-night-out of a very different sort. The women share laughter and tears, as they encounter truth, consequences, and unexpected revelations…
