Shona M. Wilson is a well loved member of NPLT and has brought her wealth of creativity and knowledge to the forefront in her most recent creation, “The Golding Girls”.
The idea of The Golding Girls sprouted backstage during a performance of The Full Monty – last year’s mid-season production at New Plymouth Little Theatre. A cast member suggested she write a play along the lines of her favourite TV show, The Golden Girls. Shona declined fairly quickly as she felt she could not do the iconic 1980s sitcom justice. However, she did like the idea of four New Zealand women living together and unable to leave, no matter how much they wanted to. The idea grew, and so the writing began…
