New Plymouth Little Theatre collects and retains information regarding visitors to our web site for the following purposes:
• Advising members/patrons of upcoming show, services and special offers
• To statistically analyse site usage
• To improve the content offering on the site
• To improve visitor and members ease and satisfaction.
Personal information collected for the above purposes will be retained by New Plymouth Little Theatre in its database. You have the right under the Privacy Act 1993 to access any personal information held about you and to correct or delete such information from New Plymouth Little Theatre database. We use your IP address and browser information to help gather broad demographic information. Portions of our site use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests. Some services require registration, which requires users to give us contact information, such as name and e-mail address.
When specifically requested by the user, we use members contact information from registration forms to send the user information about our society and services. The members contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary. Any user may cancel or opt-out of any service or future mailing by clicking on the link within a received email.
Demographic and profile data is collected at our site. We use this data to strategize and prioritize the development of new products and services. From time to time, this information may be shared with other parties — but only an overall, non-identifying, aggregate basis. We never sell, give, share, or disclose any specific personal information we collect on our site, except as required to complete a credit card transaction as requested by the user, when required.
This site contains sponsors adverts and links to other sites. New Plymouth Little Theatre is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

New Plymouth Little Theatre uses ITICKET.CO.NZ Limited (iTICKET) as a ticket agent for shows that New Plymouth Little Theatre produce. iTICKET terms and conditions can be found here. Any visiting or touring productions that are using New Plymouth Little Theatre as a venue are responsible for their own ticketing arrangements, of which New Plymouth Little Theatre has no part of.

This site is controlled and operated from New Zealand. We make no representation or warranty that the material in this site is appropriate or available for use in other countries or that such material satisfies the laws of other countries. If you choose to access this site from countries outside New Zealand, you do so of your own initiative. You are responsible for ensuring that your access to this site is not illegal or prohibited and for compliance with applicable local laws. You may not use or export the materials in this site in violation of New Zealand laws and regulations.

Theatre Hire

Full payment of the total hire charges and security bond (if applicable) is required to confirm all bookings. Any dates will remain unconfirmed and available to other Hirers until this payment has been received.

A security bond applies to new hirers or high risk events. This covers such eventualities as damage to facilities and equipment in the theatre. This will be refunded to you on acceptable inspection of the theatre after the final event.

Where bookings are cancelled 7 days prior to the event no refund will be made. Where booking are cancelled between 8 – 30 days prior to the event a 50% refund will be made. Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to the event a 100% refund will be made.

Any variation to the hours set out in this contact are not allowed. Please contact the booking officer if you require a change to the hours. Hours of hire are not allowed to extend past midnight, due to noise restrictions.

The theatre is equipped with a basic set of lighting and sound equipment. Anything above this basic setup needs to be agreed upon in this contract. Any other special equipment such as special lighting or sound, stage effects or other presentation equipment must be supplied by the Hirer.

New Plymouth Little Theatre does not supply technical operators. The Hirer must provide their own, however a theatre lighting or sound operator may be suggested by theatre personnel but the cost and conditions are not within the limits of this contract. This cost is to be negotiated between the Operator and the Hirer.

If your event requires the use of the bar, this needs to be arranged at the time of booking with the booking officer. The theatre is solely responsible for the administration of the bar and Special Licence. BREACHES OF LICENSING LAWS BY THE HIRER OR ITS AUDIENCE WLL RESULT IN THE BAR BEING CLOSED. The Hirer must comply with ALL requirements under current licensing laws.

If your event requires the use of the bar, this needs to be arranged at the time of booking with the booking officer. The theatre is solely responsible for the administration of the bar and Special Licence. BREACHES OF LICENSING LAWS BY THE HIRER OR ITS AUDIENCE WLL RESULT IN THE BAR BEING CLOSED. The Hirer must comply with ALL requirements under current licensing laws.

Please discuss catering requirements at the time of booking. Our preferred supplier for catering is Le Dejeuner Catering. Their contact details are available from the booking officer. Hirers are not permitted to use kitchen facilities without prior consent.

All children are the responsibility of their parents or caregivers. If that responsibility is handed over to a supervisor for the duration of the hire, then that supervisor and the Hirer’s representative are jointly responsible for that child in the theatre. This includes supervision in and around the toilets. Where a child is out of vision of a supervisor or Hirer’s representative, then that child is deemed to be unsupervised. The theatre cannot take responsibility where a child is unsupervised.

The Hirer must nominate at least two people to be familiar with the basic procedures and safety equipment in the building. At least one of these persons is to be in attendance and are to do a ‘safety announcement’ prior to the start of each event. This person is to also act as the Warden in event of an emergency. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to keep the exit doors clear at all times. The aisles to each side of the auditorium to the fire exits must be maintained in all seating layouts. The maximum number of persons allowed in the theatre building is 99 as stipulated in the Building Warrant of Fitness.

New Plymouth Little Theatre reserves the right, without explanation, to decline any booking, or to refuse entry to the Theatre by any person or group. Under no circumstances may a hirer sub-let any part of the theatre.

Any breach of these conditions may result in:-

a) Closure of the event

b) Refusal to accept future bookings

c) Theatre retaining the Bond and deposit held.

To be eligible for this rate, financial members must have actively participated in a NPLT produced show or event in the past 12 months. Any financial members hiring the theatre under the Financial Members Day Rate, do so under the following special conditions:-

a) The hire of the theatre is for a personal event of a non-commercial nature.

b) The theatre is to be cleaned the day after the event. This includes:-

i. Vacuuming the auditorium and foyer;

ii. Cleaning toilets;

iii. Cleaning and wiping down the kitchen;

iv. Cleaning and wiping down the bar area;

v. All rubbish and recycling put into the appropriate wheelie bins outside;

c) Table and chairs are to be arranged back to their usual positions.

d) Everything to be left how it was found. If the theatre is not left clean, tidy and in an acceptable condition then the Full Day Rate will be payable.

e) The Financial Members Day Rate is at the discretion of the NPLT committee.

WiFi Usage

By using our internet service, you hereby expressly acknowledge and agree that there are significant security, privacy and confidentiality risks inherent in accessing or transmitting information through the internet, whether the connection is facilitated through wired or wireless technology. Security issues include, without limitation, interception of transmissions, loss of data, and the introduction or viruses and other programs that can corrupt or damage your computer.

Accordingly, you agree that New Plymouth Little Theatre and/or provider of this network are NOT liable for any interception or transmissions, computer worms or viruses, loss of data, file corruption, hacking or damage to your computer or other devices that result from the transmission or download of information or materials through the internet service provided.

Use of the wireless network is subject to the general restrictions outlined below. If abnormal, illegal, or unauthorized behavior is detected, including heavy consumption of bandwidth, the network provider reserves the right to permanently disconnect the offending device from the wireless network.

The following are representative examples only and do not comprise a comprehensive list of illegal uses:

  1. Spamming and invasion of privacy – Sending of unsolicited bulk and/or commercial messages over the Internet using the Service or using the Service for activities that invade another’s privacy.
  2. Intellectual property right violations – Engaging in any activity that infringes or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade secrets, or any other proprietary right of any third party.
  3. Accessing illegally or without authorization computers, accounts, equipment or networks belonging to another party, or attempting to penetrate/circumvent security measures of another system. This includes any activity that may be used as a precursor to an attempted system penetration, including, but not limited to, port scans, stealth scans, or other information gathering activity.
  4. The transfer of technology, software, or other materials in violation of applicable export laws and regulations.
  5. Export Control Violations
  6. Using the Service in violation of applicable law and regulation, including, but not limited to, advertising, transmitting, or otherwise making available ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, fraudulently charging credit cards, pirating software, or making fraudulent offers to sell or buy products, items, or services.
  7. Uttering threats;
  8. Distribution of pornographic materials to minors;
  9. and Child pornography.

The following are representative examples only and do not comprise a comprehensive list of unacceptable uses:

  1. High bandwidth operations, such as large file transfers and media sharing with peer-to-peer programs (i.e.torrents)
  2. Obscene or indecent speech or materials
  3. Defamatory or abusive language
  4. Using the Service to transmit, post, upload, or otherwise making available defamatory, harassing, abusive, or threatening material or language that encourages bodily harm, destruction of property or harasses another.
  5. Forging or misrepresenting message headers, whether in whole or in part, to mask the originator of the message.
  6. Facilitating a Violation of these Terms of Use
  7. Hacking
  8. Distribution of Internet viruses, Trojan horses, or other destructive activities
  9. Distributing information regarding the creation of and sending Internet viruses, worms, Trojan horses, pinging, flooding, mail-bombing, or denial of service attacks. Also, activities that disrupt the use of or interfere with the ability of others to effectively use the node or any connected network, system, service, or equipment.
  10. Advertising, transmitting, or otherwise making available any software product, product, or service that is designed to violate these Terms of Use, which includes the facilitation of the means to spam, initiation of pinging, flooding, mail-bombing, denial of service attacks, and piracy of software.
  11. The sale, transfer, or rental of the Service to customers, clients or other third parties, either directly or as part of a service or product created for resale.
  12. Seeking information on passwords or data belonging to another user.
  13. Making unauthorized copies of proprietary software, or offering unauthorized copies of proprietary software to others.
  14. Intercepting or examining the content of messages, files or communications in transit on a data network.
