Held on 28th February 2025 at the New Plymouth Little Theatre to celebrate a wonderful 2024 and the shows that graced The Little Theatre stage.
Social Climbers – written by Roger Hall – directed by Steve Wright
Hilda’s Yard – written by Norm Foster – directed by Sharren Read
Love and Mistletoe – written by Raymond Hopkins – directed by Christine King
Set in 1930’s guests got ‘togged to the bricks’ (dressed up) for the festivity. Hosted by duo Chris Morrison and Briar Tucker, they regaled the audience with playful and comedic banter, dropping in the odd 30’s slang for effect. In keeping with the theme of the evening songbird Kim Carr, accompanied by pianist David Lilly, treated everyone with a couple of jazzy numbers and they were the ‘Cat’s Meow’. Comedians Jessica Charlotte and Callum Wagstaff entertained with some good old ‘off the cob’ laughs. And the audience got a sneak preview of the upcoming Little Theatre play Agatha Crusty. There was also a prize for the the best dressed, with a number of guests vieing for the title. In the end the award went to Cat Jordan, and with her 2 hour pursuit of finger waves it was well deserved. At half time guests were refreshed with a delicious supper.
Little Theatre President Christine King gave her speech and presented the awards for behind the scenes excellence.
Heather Harrison, the Little Theatre’s esteemed guest and 2024’s adjudicator, presented the show awards.
All and all it was a rip snort of a night and everyone had a ring a ding ding.
Congratulations to all our winners!
